HBO cancels Deadwood = We cancel HBO.
HBONOMO.com started out on May 23, 2006 collecting names (and comments) from people who vowed to cancel HBO because Deadwood wasn't renewed for a 4th season (click here for original page).
In June HBO agreed to two 2-hour movies for season 4. It is still unclear if (and when) it will actually happen.
So today, August 28, 2006 I cancelled HBO. I will re-subscribe to HBO a week before the 2-hour Deadwood movie airs.
I am now taking names (and comments) of others who have cancelled HBO.
We are no longer adding to the list. This site has served its purpose.
The following individuals cancelled their HBO subscriptions in protest for HBO not renewing Deadwood.
As of August 28, 2006
- Neil Monnens: (8/28/06)
- Brice Liesveld: (8/28/2006) Just Canceled HBO!
- Marge: I too will be contacting my HBO carrier... I will request they contact me when Deadwood will be back in the saddle!!
- Jerry Rawlings: At this time I have not canceled HBO, simply because I have a tenant who wants it, and actually pays the additional fees for it. He has just given me his 60 day notice, and upon his evacuating the space, I will be canceling my subscription to HBO, on approx. Nov.1st.
- Eric V Heimstadt: Gawds the last eposide was so anti-climatic - UGH - but such is life - BUT to leave it HANGING THERE?
- Gary Nickel: I wasn't kidding. Cancelled immediately after the show ended Aug 27.
- Pam Gearhart: I'm cancelling after this week's repeats are finished, so I guess the date will be September 3. I've sent a couple of e-mails to HBO as well.
- Dennis and Lynda: Cancelled HBO today and informed Direct TV it was because Deadwood series was not completed.
- Suzy MacFarland: Cancelled HBO when I heard they were cancelling Deadwood. I do not recall the date, however, it was several months ago.
- Megan Tweed: I am currently without HBO -- have been for a few months.
- Alex Ware
- Faye Musselman: I called up today and cancelled my HBO subscription. Service disconnect and box pickup is scheduled for this Thursday. Add me to the list my man!! I know they have dips and spikes when favorite series end or start up....let's let the dipshits know which program caused the dip this time!
- Michel Low: I did cancel HBO today, and I'm hoping enough others did as well...........to send a BIG message to HBO. Thanks for your help!
- J.L. St. James: I cancelled HBO today, August 28. The only thing that will bring me back is the materialization of "the movies."
- Carla St John: I cancelled this afternoon. I said I would, and I did. I'm sure that HBO has other fine shows, but I'm so bitter about how they've jacked the Deadwood cast, crew and fans around that I get a sinking feeling just thinking about it. I'm taking my money to Netflix til further notice.
- John Gray: (8/28/06) My name is John Gray and I called and cancelled HBO from my DirecTV service on August 28th, the day after the last episode aired. When they asked why I told them it was because they cancelled one of their TV shows. DirecTV said I was a valued customer and would gladly give me 6 months of HBO for free and I declined and asked for Showtime instead. Thanks to the internet I doubt I'll miss much of HBO's other programming I want to see anyway.
- Ray Roberts: (8/28/06) My significant other cancelled HBO on August 28, 2006. Read more at http//Savedeadwood.tv.
- James Madison: (8/27/06) We cancelled on 8/27/06, as soon as recovered from our funk long enough to find a phone. Adi-fuckin-os, HBO.
- Tracie Nieto: (8/28/06)
As of August 29, 2006
- David Gong: I cancelled on 8/26.
- K. Blasco: (8/28/06) They lie about the movies like they lied about season 4. Original Series (especially Deadwood!) is the only reason for HBO and it's dead. May they be too.
- William & Shannon Smitherman: (8/29/2006) My HBO was cancelled today... Like you, I will resubscribe to HBO when/if they give us the 2 2hour shows that they promised... Please add my name to your list
- Ed Hood: Best Regards & Happy Trails!
- Jerry Sabbagh: I have been a dedicated HBO subscriber since 1994. Through the years there has been some excellent shows from HBO, but none touch Deadwood. Where as the Sopranos started with its best season and is now just a shell, Deadwood keeps getting better. I cancelled HBO on Monday morning, opting for the Showtime package. There are some things that should not be left unsaid. I hope a lot more people cancel HBO to a point where the people who made the decision to cancel Deadwood have to worry about. There own worth to the station. Jerry Sabbagh. Ex HBO Subscriber
- Bethanie A Miller: (8/28/06) CarniFreakFan cancelled HBO on Monday, August 28, 2006. I will only renew HBO if they bring back Carnivale and Deadwood.
- Rick & Eileen Davidson: (8/28/06) No DEADWOOD, no HBO!
- CJ Nagel: (8/28/06) HBO was canceled promptly on the morning of 8/28. I still don't think things can be adequately wrapped up with the set of 2 hour movies, but because of the show, I'll tune back in for them.
- Chris Kanezo: Those bastards. After what I consider to be the best season yet, they pull the plug, and won’t even offer a firm commitment as to when they will produce and air the Deadwood movies. You have my support.
- Valerie Attina: Canceling today (would have done it yesterday but forgot my account number!), Aug. 29. Like you, we MAY renew just to watch the movies or simply wait until they come on DVD. My husband and I are furious at the handling of this terrific show and greatly appreciate all your efforts. Heng Dai!
- D. Anthony: I shall cancel today.
- Wendy and Mark Cox: (8/28/06) HBO cancelled Monday, August 28.
- St.Julien aka Nancy H. St. Louis, MO
- Carl Crother: (8/28/06)I canceled my HBO the day after, Monday 8-28-06, I to will only renew when the movie comes out.
- M. Helberg: (8/29/06) HBO Canceled - If and when I read a firm date for Deadwood's return I will resubscribe.
- Kevin Thomas: (8/28/06) I cancelled HBO at 9:13 am CST Monday morning, August 28th.
- J. Chollwitz: I was wondering when and if those films were scheduled. If they are not, I'll cancel today. BTW, HBO's store is adding DEADWOOD products--including (significantly, it seemed to me) a 17 month calendar that will go through 2007. It occurs to me that they would be less likely to try to keep the 'product' alive this long if they were not at least considering going forward. Also, I would suggest that people who cancel HBO inform their cable carriers why they are doing so.
- Christy Roberson: (8/28/06) I cancelled 8/28.
- Ken and Valerie Beck: (8/29/06) Could have kept HBO option for 50 cents but told them no Deadwood, no sense in keep HBO. Heng Dai!
- David Marchick: (8/29/06) I cancelled my HBO today. I had to make sure I had taped all of season 3's episodes.
- Eric Walker: Will cancel sep 1 '06
- Trenton R. Browne: I don’t know how to cancel HBO, BUT I WOULD IF I DID. I just don’t see how they could be SO OBTUSE.
- Colleen Reynolds: (8/28/06) I cancelled yesterday, August 28.
- Susan H: I cancelled HBO yesterday, August 28, 2006. HBO cancelled "Deadwood," one of the greatest television dramas in history and which only kept getting better and better, with this season's episodes exceeding all my hopes and demands for superb dialogue, acting, and plot. I treasured every Sunday night, particularly with the arc of the story this season that depicted, in all its ackwardness, angst, and inevitability, Deadwood's lurching from an outlaw town to a more civilized community. Further, HBO's fare -- particularly for compelling dramas -- has just about dried up. I knew that when I saw a promo last week on HBO advertising that it's running movies on Sunday nights throughout the fall. Movies? On Sunday night? When we subscribers expect to see at least one original HBO drama? That's because HBO has abandoned its commitment to excellence in dramas and apparently mismanaged their budgets by investing in a pathetically poor comedy (a comedy in HBO's description only) like Lucky Louie and blowing $100 million on "Rome," which I read they've also cancelled after its second season.
- William Luckinbill
- Joelle and Heath Cavitt. We cancelled HBO August 28, 2006, the Monday after the Deadwood season finale.
- Michael Long: I cancelled HBO (over 5 year subscriber) AND Cinemax yesterday - 8/28/06. I emailed Chris Albrecht directly notifying WHY I was cancelling.
- Mary & Paul Kopco (Real Deadwood Podcast): We cancelled HBO today, August 29, 2006
- Ron Pevey - aka Swearengen at Deadwood Fan Club - Cancelled 8/28/06
- Rod/Pam
- Amy Vernon: I will be cancelling HBO today and replacing it with Showtime. Thanks HBO!!
- Meghan & David Salazar - August 28th, 2006 No more HBO for us.
- Logan Moore -- canceled HBO on August 28th. I only subscribed to HBO for Deadwood in the first place. TOO expensive to produce!?? What BS? How much has HBO spent on ROME? That is the most worthless show to date!
- Dawn Moore: I confirm that I plan to cancel my subscription to HBO and all of the HBO channels and HBO On Demand. My cable billing cycle goes from the 15th of the month so as of September 14, 2006 I will have canceled my subscription to HBO. Deadwood is one of the best written shows on TV and HBO has used such bad judgment in letting this show end without proper closure of the storytelling. I urgently hope all Deadwood fans follow suite, cancel their subscriptions to HBO and send a message to these folks that intelligent, quality entertainment is what HBO should focus on and be known for and not be known for a common and base greed of money. Here is hoping the two movies will be made at least, with the same quality of story telling and that fans can enjoy some closure to the great TV show.
- Barbara Daugherty: I cancelled HBO on Monday, August 28, 2006. With the end of Deadwood, HBO offers me no programming of interest. I had hoped to be able to let my provider (Dish) know why I was cancelling HBO, but the cancellation procedure was entirely automated. I may or may not add HBO if the Deadwood movies ever materialize. At this point, I'm inclined to say no.
- JoEllen Thompson: I just returned from cancelling HBO and adding Showtime, so not only will HBO no longer receive my money, their competitor will be enriched.
- Tony Sharp: I cancelled yesterday 8/28/2006
- George Watson: Cancelled hbo 8/2806 but only after watching the last episode again.
- M. Garvin (Juneau AK): I don't have a TV or HBO, I rent DVDs from HBO religously from Netflix (6 feet under, Sex in the City, Deadwood, Sopranos, etc) I will refuse to rent ONE DVD from an HBO program until they finish Deadwood or renew the series,
- Barbara Henry: I cancelled HBO at around 10:00 a.m. PDT, August 29, 2006, after something like 20 years. I also wrote the first of many emails (this go-around). Lets' feed Albrecht to Wu's pigs -- unless they don't eat ther own!
- R. Anderson cancelled on Aug. 28.
- Ellin Jean; I cancelled HBO today, August 29. Good bye, good riddance, and thanks for the extra $23 a month, you clueless bastards!!!
- James Harper in Washington State: I'm cancelling today -- missed the 28th due to anguishing. Concern that HBO probably won't actually make the wrap-up movies, together with the HBO attitude "Let them and the horse they rode in on eat cake" -- forces me to just cancel HBO. No, there really _isn't_ a lot else to watch there -- have you actually tried watching "Lucky Louie"?
- Mike Darnell 08/28/06 (cancelled HBO)
- D Jason Meadows: Proudly Cancelled on 08-28-06. To Hell with HBO for snubbing their fans.
- Alex & Kimberly Kessler: I cancelled HBO on 8-29-06 because they pulled the plug on "Deadwood" without allowing a "proper" 4th season. Time will tell if the two promised movies transpire.
- Tom Purcell & Sally Cataldo: We cancelled HBO when we heard about the cancellation of DEADWOOD. Not too sure about the timing but can't believe they can renew the Soprano's and not DEADWOOD.
- Peter Gheekee and Eleanor Bristoe have not subscribed to HBO for a long time now and never will. No Deadwood, no HBO.
- Diane Melton: I cancelled HBO today, 8/29/06.
- Mary Eleln Vesprini: I cancelled my subscription yesterday and sent a message to Chris Albrecht stating that I could no longer support a cable network that is so completely dissmissive of viewer preferences. The "Sex in the City" movie was promised but never delivered.
- Matthew Sigmon: Cancelled August 29. Bitterly disappointed- Deadwood justified the price of the whole package. Without it, I'm done.
- Mark Hamilton: Yep, I cancelled HBO on Monday, 8/28.
- Jon Zuckerman (ex 26 year subscriber): Im cancelling HBO for the first and only time since 1980 because they were stupid enough to cancel the greatest show ever made.Ill go to my neighbor to watch and tape boxing and Entourage, which is the only reason to keep it now.Its certainly not for the movies(which they repeat endlessly). It was for great programming and boxing. Its rare I ever bother with a show because theyre mostly crap.I dont even watch network TV(ABC,CBS,etc). And BTW Im NOT satisfied with the compromise of 2 2 hour movies. This show could have easily gone another few years. Instead we have Rome(which is only ok and will never see a third year- why bother investing in these shows if theyre gonna get cancelled???), Lucky Louie(like every other sitcom, its bad , but with swearing) and Big Dud, I mean bore, I mean Love. No thanks. Its not HBO its TV and we dont finish what we started either. LONG LIVE DEADWOOD!! BYE HBO!
- Phil D'Angelo canceled hbo the day after last show of the season. going 2 watch first season again.
- Steve M Lane: First we are losing Rome now DEADWOOD, they SUCK !!! If they aren’t careful Showtime is going to take all their viewers with their new shows!!!
- Sukanya Rajaratnam and Ravi Chanmugam
- Jan Gallanis: I am cancelling HBO on September 1,2006. I will not renew until they renew Deadwood
- Jessica DeBuck: We officially cancelled our subscription to HBO due to the cancellation of our most beloved series, Deadwood. We’re sick and tired of these great shows being cancelled so prematurely; people really need to learn to stick around longer already. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it and do not get rid of it!
- K.C. Sanders: I will immediately cancel HBO if they don not bring back Big Love for the second season.
As of August 30, 2006
- Phillip Putzback: Cancelled and switched to Showtime for Weeds
- Russell Garbutt: Cancelled on Wed, Aug 30th.
- Debbie Bishop: Even though it only saved me $5/month - HBO is cancelled. When I talked to the guy at Comcast, he said that he had already received several cancellations because of Deadwood (4 or better from his calls alone yesterday) - he could not put down that it was because of Deadwood (as I specifically asked him to do) however, he did say it was because of "programming" and assured me that HBO will get the picture. So as of 8/30 I'm done until the tale of the 4th year of the Deadwood camp is completed either by a 4th season or the 2 movies promised at HBO. I will reup HBO at that time.
- Patricia Faunce: Yes, cancelled 8/28. I agree. I will re-subscribe when I see Deadwood on the schedule.
- Tom Rogers: Well if Milch doesn't want to make more Deadwood eps then I guess I would rather see the show go then the reigns be passed to someone without his vision and abilities. Still, it pains me because Deadwood was the best show on TV, ever. HBO giveth and HBO taketh away, those lousy cocksuckers!
- Jon and Lynn Stromp: HBO Canceled Carnivale, HBO canceled Deadwood, on Aug. 28th, we canceled HBO after 20 years of subscribing.
- Brandi Harvey: I love this show, HBO! It's the only show you've ever had worth watching. I'm cancelling!
- Steven Hellerman: Cancelled HBO on Mon., 8/28.
- Owen Cor: Thanks, I cancelled HBO yesterday.
- Steven L. Wilson: No Deadwood...no HBO. Called Dish Network this morning.
- Tim & Vickie Lindeman: My wife and I Love the show DEADWOOD, and the real town of Deadwood we have met a lot of the cast and the locals are great we will be canceling HBO on Sep 1st and Emailing HBO and Dish network the reasons why! We have emailed HBO when we heard they where not renewing the cast contracts and told them what we where going to do if they canceled the show I would still like to see a fourth season but if we could get some closure with the two movies I guess we would be satisfied.
- Beverley Brackett: When they cancelled Carnivale on a cliffhanger, I was devastated, but I hung in there because the promise of Deadwood was so great. Well, this wholly undeserved cancellation of a series that is an absolute masterpiece has made me realize that HBO is like a bad boyfriend, and I refuse to believe any more of the big talk and the lies. I don't think we'll ever get any movies. Today, I booted the bastard out of my house and cut off access to my wallet. And Cinemax, which is owned by HBO, has also been told to hit the road. I'll be saving $25 a month. HBO, turns out it was just TV after all.
- Sherry Ross: After hearing Deadwood was canceled I canceled my long time subscription to HBO 8/30/2006. I will subscribe again if more episodes are forthcoming.
- Donna Albert: As of 8/30 HBO and Cinemax are no longer part of my cable system. Comcast is aware of the reason and the customer service lady is gonna make it a point to tell the HBO rep when she sees him today (she is also a fan of the show!). The suits at Time Warner & HBO were informed that they will not get a dime of my money until the 2 Deadwood movies (or 4th season as was originally promised) is on their schedule.
As of August 31, 2006
- Brittany and Richard Love: Cancelled HBO 8/28/06
- Barbara Brackett: As said so eloquently by my daughter Beverley (#90 on the list) I am booting the bastards out of my house and out of my life. HBO is creatively bankrupt, and I predict will follow financially on the same path if they keep up their present policies. And they show every indication of doing just that!
- Geneva Smith: I cancelled HBO form my Cox cable line up and say "piss on their teeth" they are bastards for leaving Deadwood fans hanging and after only 3 seasons. Luck Louie? Entourage? Rome? Christ what a pot full of shit for a line up. I would not buy the DVD's either. That is what my DVD burner is for. I sincerely hope Albrecht (?) gets a brain anuerism or something as karmic retribution for cancelling Deadwood. I have 0 confidence that the movies will be made and if I am wrong (hope I am), I can always switch for 1 or 2 nights then cancel again. Vote with your wallet and cancel HBO.
- Perry Vincent: I cancelled hbo on 08-31-2006.
- Chris Crabtree: I’m out until they make good on continuing the story.
- Jacob Schrader: I was about to buy the first season of Carnivale on DVD when I heard it was cancelled!! I then decided not to start watching the Wire because "what if it gets cancelled?" Then they cancel DEADWOOD!!! The BEST show on TV!!!!!! I am so done with you HBO!!!!!!
As of September 1, 2006
- Matt Hauer: cancelled HBO Aug. 28. You cancelled Deadwood to save money? Guess what?
- Timothy Wickline: I just found out 10 minuets ago that deadwood was being canceled and rushed to the net to findout what was going on. YOU BET YOUR ASS I'M GOING TO CANCEL HBO! deadwood is the best show on t.v. and the execs. at hbo are idiots for letting it go. as Al and Woo would say COCKSUCKERS!
- Adrian Hughes: Deadwood in HD was my reason for HBO. No more deadwood no more HBO. Thanks for the memories
- Doug Lemka
- Kevin S. Griffith: Cancelled HBO today. My cable company (Comcast), said they had a special offer for me if I kept HBO. I told them no. I told them the reason I was canceling was because HBO cancelled "Deadwood", and that no amount of savings would be worth keeping it.
As of September 2, 2006
- Pat O'Sullivan: 9/02/06 With deadwoods end so will be my ties with HBO...I didn't watch for the movies but for there programming....and with there best show gone what's the point...It was the only reason I subscribed.
- Michael Willis- If there is not a full season of deadwood then I am going to cancel my sub. on sept. 30. Deadwood is the only show that is worth a flying shit on HBO.
As of September 3, 2006
- Edward Criado Cancelled 8/31/06 when I learned Deadwood was cacelled. HBO will never regain my subscription unless they bring back Deadwood.
- Will Erb: First Carnivale and now this!!! I'm done with HBO. Cancelled 9/1/06.
- Scott Knoll
- Ashley Willikers: I intend to cancel HBO after "The Wire" -- as a protest, of course, but mainly because there will be nothing left worth viewing.
- Michael Thompson: I cancelled HBO 8/27. Why give any new HBO shows a try? I’ll never know how they end.
- Matthew J. Bailey: I cancelled HBO 9/2/2006. No Deadwood…no HBO!
As of September 5, 2006
- McCoin Family: We canceled HBO 8/29
- Toni Dalessandro: First the ridiculous last Soprano episode and now this. Many unanswered questions - what was the purpose of all the chinese being armed with guns, where has Bullock's wife been while he babysat Alma and her daughter, new owner of the livery is left in a catatonic state - what's up with that we'll never know, no funeral for Almas husband??, looks like Bullock and Alma will continue their relationship but we'll never know, what about all the plans that evel man has for the town such as another newspaper. Sy being appointed to oversee the holdings for him such as?????. What an aggravating situation viewers are in with such a last show as we were giving. That's how they thank our loyalty. Frankly I got so disgusted with Soprano's this year that Deadwood was the only show I tuned in to so it looks like I will complant to Compast my provider and goodbye HBO. I understand I cannot drop HBO any old time, they have to provide me with a date. I also heard there would be 2 - two hour shows but heard nothing after that. I think we deserve at least that little bit of hope.
- Clayton E. Lawrence: Canceled 9/5/06 The series finale stunk....
As of September 6, 2006
- Allan Thompson - Cancelled HBO as soon as Deadwood season finally was over (8/27) also sent a nasty letter to HBO with my reasons for canceling.
As of September 7, 2006
- Bill & Kay Barritt: 8/28/06; also wrote to Robin Weigert & David Milch that we cancelled HBO. We're not going to renew for the 2-hour telefilms -- most of the original cast won't be back, so the view isn't worth the climb.
As of September 8, 2006
- David Griggs: Canceled HBO on Sept 05, 2006. No more Al, Dan, Seth, Charlie, Trixie, NG, lobotomy Steve....
- Spoonfeeder: Cancelled today- HBO needs to see that the reason we subscribe it to be offered better shows than anyone else- not to have them give us 3 years of gold and then take it away without resolving the story line, expecting us to hang around. Drag the Sopranos out some more.....
As of September 9, 2006
- David Baxter: I just canceled my HBO service with Charter Cable and sent a note to HBO telling them why. Of course, it's because they cancelled Deadwood. Let's hope all 4 million loyal Deadwood fans join in on the effort.
As of September 10, 2006
- Randy Silvey has had enough and he ain't gonna take it anymore!!
- Jay Walt (dont have HBO but I cancelled The movie network which carries hbo programming)
- Becker Family: I am done with HBO, yep, that is it. Deadwood was great, I was hooked and now,,,,,,COCKSUCKERS!!!!!!As it had been said, drag out the Sopranos one more year, just what we want,,hmmmm, nope!
- Dennis Sisson: I think the hearst family had something to do with this
As of September 11, 2006
- Jeff Hanson. I’m going to enjoy my extra $15 a month because I just cancelled HBO because Deadwood was cancelled and the last season of Sopranos was weak. Cancelled happily September 8th and will not come back until Deadwood does.
As of September 12, 2006
- Fred Vierengel: I will be cancelling HBO this week over the cancellation of Deadwood.
As of September 13, 2006
- Kelly Mitchell: You have to be joking! Deadwood is the best show on HBO. You can now take HBO off my list of favs.
As of September 14, 2006
- Tom Cook.
- Ryan Barrenger: I cancelled my HBO subscription this afternoon due to the fact nothing in-stone has been stated about a 4th season of Deadwood. I have tried to stay faithful in this great programming (especially after the cancellation of Carnivale), but this is the last straw for me. I will re-subscribe to my HBO package for any new Deadwood programs, but for now I say goodbye HBO.
As of September 15, 2006
- Tim Burkhalter: After a little delay, I have canceled HBO effective yesterday. I am dismayed that HBO can't find a way to keep Deadwood on the airwaves in its original format given its outstanding production values. I will re-evaluate my decision pending the final disposition of the movies and the small remaining chance for a full fourth season. Thank you for organizing this effort as it is appreciated by me and numerous other Deadwood fans.
- Charles Hollowell
- Chris Isbill: As far as I'm concerned the management of HBO "SUCK-COCK-BY-Choice" lol
As of September 16, 2006
- Joe Blowfish
As of September 17, 2006
- HBO Management, Concerning the cancellation of Deadwood, If it is true that you are doing a last two-episode season, when this is done, I will FOREVER cancel HBO 1,2 and any other future commercial endeavor you get into from EVER receiving any more money from me. I am writing each and every sponsor of yours and the board and shareholders for this moronic and ill-managed so-called "network". Under this management, they do almost nothing right. They were 'groundbreaking' with many of their HBO new series, but Chris & Co. cannot manage success, and screw up an almost sure thing. This series is excellent, and when you total up the coming losses directly attributable to canceling Deadwood, it is clear who should go, the CEO of HBO, and NOT the series. Do something right for a change and re-instate Deadwood.
As of September 18, 2006
- Francine Farrell: I cancelled my HBO subscription with Dish Network today, August 31, 2006. Like most others I had HBO only for their series as their movie line up has been repetitious and redundant forever. I was mad when they screwed up by canceling Carnivale. But, I am furious with the cancellation of Deadwood. Although I really, really like Carnivale (and sometimes the Sopranos, but no so much since Ade was killed off) I absolutely loved Deadwood. The historical reality in scenery, design, dialogue, events and situations, dealing with real life characters that to this day are known was very addicting to this viewer. I will sign up again if the 2 - 2 hr movies are produced but until then HBO is dead wood to me.
As of September 19, 2006
- Connie Dees: Cancelled approximately September 8th.
As of September 21, 2006
- Robert Coats: I cancelled my subscription as soon as I heard Deadwood was being cancelled. It may be my favorite show of all time. There will never be a character like Ian McShane's Al Swerangen again.
As of September 22, 2006
- Toni Chinnici Haddock: We cancelled last weekend 9/14/06.
As of September 23, 2006
- Kimberly Sullivan: I canceled HBO Sept.8 for canceling Deadwood. The best show ever on TV! I hate HBO! I will never subscribe again, only if they bring Deadwood back as a series. Otherwise they will never get my business again.
As of September 24, 2006
- Mary Seibert: Please add my name to your list of people who can't believe HBO cancelled DEADWOOD!!!! A show which tells you how it was, was colorful, both in language and the way the actors built such details of character for their roles. It was a show that was clever and had such a turn of phrase -it was a pleasure to watch a show that actually had a vocabulary that extended past first grade level. It opened up history -...we could see just what a flamboyant time it was in our countries history, the good the bad -the mixture of nationalities that came to America t and BECAME Americans. They established the tough stick with it attitude tthat became a hallmark of our nation. These were the sarcastic, dry humored, incredibly funny and bemusing men and women who left their families behind in order to build a better life, added to that the incredible few who had the fortitude and gumption, and the foresight to grab their dream, to bring it alive, and to make their mark in our history. BRING IT BACK!!!!!
As of September 26, 2006
- Judy M. Snavely
As of September 29, 2006
- Mark Clark: I will be cancel ling HBO on Monday, no DEADWOOD, no HBO!!!!!!!
As of October 7, 2006
- Lori McDaniel: Deadwood was the best show I've ever seen. I cancelled HBO after the last episode...not at all interested in anything else they want to show me.
As of October 8, 2006
- Jason Worthington: With the constant disappointment in The Sopranos the last two seasons I have only held onto HBO because of Deadwood and Deadwood's superiority to all other series on TV. I don't need to see the same mediocre movie every day for two months and any good movie that comes out I will purchase. HBO renew Deadwood and save your sole programming that makes your station worth watching.
As of October 9, 2006
- Devon Ridens: I ONLY subscribed to HBO for Deadwood the rest of what they offer is a rip off or garbage I can see for free on regular tv. I was willing to pay the highway robbery to see Deadwood but now that they have cancelled it I hope they go bankrupt. They won't be getting my money anymore EVER. I had TWO boxes so I would say I was a great customer. I will say that the only way they would ever win me back would be to bring back Deadwood. I will not get "attached" to another one of their series because they are fickle and don't care about their viewers. No loyalty to me NO loyalty and money from ME.
As of October 13, 2006
- brian Connors: 10-14-06, DONE WITH HBO............

- Sean Dee: when I found out that deadwood was canceled, I waited until august 30th.... what the hell? I don't pay for a channel that has one or two shows worth watching, even network television has better choices at this point. Buh-bye HBO.
- Jesse Trovato: Dead wood is my favorite show (next to the wire which the fat cats at hbo might also be cancelling) and its rediculous that they're gonna cancel it,especially before they see how the third season will do. i could bitch some more b/c i have much to say but i'll refrain from all that and just ask you to put me on the list.

- Jon Autry: I just finished watching seasons one and two of Deadwood on DVD. I missed season three so I have to wait for it to come out on DVD. It makes me want to trow up that there will not be a season four. Deadwood is the best television series ever to air on television in my opinion.

- Al Renner: Canceling Deadwood was needless, stupid and lazy. There are other option on cable so I'll be canceling HBO and going elsewhere.

- Richard Kirchner - I was going to sign up for HBO just so I could watch Deadwood, but now I guess I don't have to. I'll just watch reruns on the History Channel instead.

- Judy Story - I cancelled hbo the same night the deadwood series ended.
